Does anyone have information about a PLASTICIZER with high conductivity like polyethylene glycol(PEG). i need it to make my polymer membrane flexible with high conductivity. thanks
Classification of PLASTICIZER into conducting and non-conducting might be vague unless we do not understand its basic structure and mechanism.
Initially, plasticizer were considered to be responsible for physical properties only - like strength and stiffness. With continuous research mainly after post 1980's researchers revealed its other capabilities like controlling the hydrophobicity of the membrane. This surface property has been proved to be significant for the conductivity and similar related study. But experimentally it was also observed that only PLASTICIZER do not significantly bring the change in surface adsorption or desportion based on charge affinity.
Therefore research open the avenues of further composite plasticizers like nanocompsite bbased plasticizer, or organic charged molecule doped plasticizer (organic charged molecule acts as analogue to lipid molecule - amphiphillic group).
This was all about PLASTICIZER and related research based on its conducting property.
I think it is more better to use PEO + (NH4)2C4H8(COP)2] Polymer Electrolyte which is more conductive you can read the article " Effect of Plasticizers on Structural and Dielectric Behaviour" DOI: 10.1155/2013/752596
Obtaining a composite with good electrical conductivity of gold nanoparticles and polypyrrole can be found at the address. Gold nanoparticles are produced from electrical scrap.
