Juan,

A very good compound to look for in water is urobilin by LC/MS. Frontier scientific in Logan Utah USA has a full line of what you are looking for. There has been some research done on Urobilin as a fecal indicator, not sure if this is the path you are going for. If you search for "urobilin waste water jones-lepp" you should find what you need.
