I have tried MoBio RNA kit but that one may take more than one hour for one sample. Instead, Trizol is the most fast way to extract RNA. I am trying to use Trizol to extract total RNA from an anaerobic system (system somewhat like soil).
My problem is that the humic substance in the sample gave the extracted RNA dark color and low quality. Is there any fast method to remove the humic substance? I have tried the Qiagen purification column but that did not help.

@yu xia The kit you mentioned in your response is for bacterial cells but may u tell me will the same protocol work for total soil RNA?
