Hello, I'm currently doing my thesis (for my bachelor's degree) for industrial engineering, where the objective is to achieve hydrogels to remove metal ions from the acid mine drainage based on fish collagen. So far, I've managed to extract collagen from fish skin. However, I'm stuck when it comes to chemical crosslinking of collagen. So, I would be extremely helpful if someone could share with me their experience in collagen hydrogel synthesis methods (materials and process involved).

The crosslinking agents I have in mind to use are glutaraldehyde, formaldehyde, and citric acid (if someone knows about more low cost - crosslinking agents it would be helpful too).

Thak you so much, and I hope this question finds you in good health.

Jhon Calle.
