Hello! I have a question about a component from the Beta Galactosidase detection kit (Fluorometric)- AB176721 from ABCAM. From all the components of the kit, Lysis Buffer was used faster than the other ones and we are not able to find what it contains in order to reproduce it so we can use the rest of the components. The lysis buffer from Beta Galactosidase detection kit (Fluorometric)- AB176721 from ABCAM is a proprietary combination of various reagents. It will usually contain a mild non-ionic detergent and a proprietary combination of various salts and agents to enhance extraction and stability of proteins.
If you no longer have the lysis buffer, you can always use an alternate method of lysis which is provided in the kit itself namely, a quick freeze- thaw cycle (freeze 1 – 2 hours at -20°C to -80°C and thaw at room temperature). The freeze-thaw method is commonly used to lyse bacterial and mammalian cells.
