we are performing intracraneal injection of in NOD SCID Gamma mice, and we are finding unusual problems with anesthesia, loosing 75% of mice during surgery or next following days. From last 8 mice, only 1 survived. We can not imagine why, so any advise will be wellcome!!!

I have not used ketamine for anesthesia primarily due to its toxicity. I usually prefer using 3% avertin solution. If you standardize its use, the recovery of the animals are really good with this. I have kept them for atleast a week without any complications following the anesthesia.
