The RNA extraction process per se will perform similarly for either FFPE or Fomalin-only fixed, therefore the use of the same FFPE kit is fine. You only need to skip the deparafinisation step. In fact, I use RNeasy FFPE Kit which works well for purifying total RNA from formalin-fixed and/or paraffin-embedded tissue sections (and for Formalin-fixed I skip the Deparafinisation solution).
