what type of dye?you mean food azo dyes?The past study showed that tartrazine and carmoisine can affect the rate of renal function test and liver function test. But, i don't have any idea for its effect on lipid profile. The toxic effect by this dye was only monitored to rats and it's most likely done at pre-clinical stage.

tartrazine and carmoisine affect adversely and alter biochemical markers in vital organs e.g. liver and kidney not only at higher doses but also at low doses.
