Oxyblot from Millipore can detect carbonylated proteins/amino acids, but what I am looking to do is detect a carbonyl compound added to a protein so that the actual carbonyl group is no longer there and the carbonyl has been added to the protein.
No, it is not AGE. It will be a chemically generated carbonyl of indoles and hydroxyindoles.
