I tried to blast zebrafish and mouse protein sequences into Xenopus genome and nucleotide databases but found no correspondence. Is it possible that frogs do not have this gene?
I'm sorry that it is bad news for you. However, absence of evidence, etc.
It might just be that the protein is not terribly constrained, so sequence alignments might miss sufficiently diverged orthologs. You might be able to change BLAST parameters to find the glimmer of something that might be the X.t. disc1 gene, if you have reason to believe it "should" be there.
I already tried and didn't find anything. I also checked sinteny and downloaded the scaffold containing the conserved sintenyc region but I did not find any sequences with homology to Disc1...
