Hello everyone,
I am searching for any kind of homomultimeric protein which is formed post-/co-translationally from multiple identical subunits and can be easily expressed in E. coli in soluble form. One example is E. coli beta-galactosidase (homotetramer, 464 kDa) but I am looking for something smaller and the more the subunits the better it will be for me... For example, it may be also very simple structure such as potential multiple identical helices joining together. All that matters is that it is soluble, relatively stable in room temperature and easily axpressed in E. coli.
I would be grateful for any suggestion or publication.

DNA helicase (DnaB) is a hexamer that can be expressed in soluble form in E. coli.

GlmU is a trimer with a very interesting structure and two catalytic activities in one protein. It too can be expressed in soluble form in E. coli.

The N protein of respiratory syncytial virus forms a dodecameric ring. It has also been expressed in E. coli.

Shiga toxin B subunit forms a homopentamer. In addition, Shiga holotoxin is expressed by some E. coli strains (STEC) and both recombinant A and B subunits have been succesfully expressed in E. coli. It's small: a single B subunit is 7.7 kDa.

How about Ferritin? its a 24-mer but the monomers are not that big (170 AA)
it can be expressed very well in Ecoli

E. coli DnaB helicase. It contained 6 identical subunits expressed well, is soluble and stable.
