Some antibodies survive are know to be stable at +4, others at -20 and even -80 degrees according to some literature (Ritter, Methods in Molecular Medicine). What then is the safe temperature and stability period of antibodies to steroid metabolites.
Antibodies, when stored at right protein concentration and in optimum buffer that prevents growth of bacteria, are stable for a long-time at 4 degree C and -20 degree C (with glycerol added to buffer). Antibodies can be directed against any antigen or metabolite.
As Divaker notes above, "a long time." In the labs where I trained (MC Moore & JC Wingfield), it was said that when there were problems with an assay it almost never was due to AB issues given their long-term stability.

Antibodies with 10% glycerol in its buffering storage at -20C/-80C; almost stable for long periods (~ 5 years...!!!). See stability of antibody really less matters for the experiments as per my experience and as Stephan said; if you handle it properly. I have used many antibodies (even >5years old and after the expiry dates) that were worked very fine with 0.5ug/mL dilutions.
And the for the 4C storage antibodies, it should be stored in 0.02% NaN3 (Sodium azide). These antibodies also can be used until ~3-5 years.
