I need to know about the conductivity of the GO I have bought from Sigma aldrich, it is edge oxidized, but it is not in the SDS. has any body measured for their tests? or the exact ratio of C/O?
GO is an electrically non-conductive material, as the presence of the oxygen on the surface leads to the disruption of its sp2 bonding. It has to be reduced to the make it conductive.
Yes you are right but this product from Sigma is only edge oxidized and O/C ratio is not big so the conductivity is not zero and I need to find it to substitute in my equations ...
Hi Seyede...as you mentioned o/c ratio is not big, that is relative, the value should be as small as possible for a better conductivity, because the domain size of graphene oxide also will be important while measuring conductivity...
yes the domain size depends on the way graphene oxide prepared along with the source...as mostly graphite exfoliation is done using hummers method, during the process of oxidation need to take care of temperature and pH for a suitable dispersion...in addition to that aggregation of GO also would affect the property as a thin film
