I am going to clone several protein to express in Baculovirus. I am clonning them using one plasmid that I know is compatible with the Bac-to-Bac system that is being used in the lab, (since is the one used here).
I have received some plasmids with inserts from other lab that are cloned in different type of plasmids, but also for recombine in bacteria and produce viruses. My question is the next:
-Are Bac-to-Bac-like universal systems ? Can I use any donor plasmid to transform E.coli and recombine with my virus DNA? Are different donor-recipient pairs arround, who won´t recombine if you mix them?

In theory, with the DH10Bac bacterias, it is possible to use any donor plasmid that has the attTn7 sites (right and left) flanking the insert.Only this is necessary for the transposition to occur within the bacmid.
