BRAIN DRAIN- POPULARLY KNOWN IS DISCOURAGED IN DEVELOPING NATIONS, BUT BECAUSE OF LOW MONETARY BENEFIT, NASTY POLITICS, THE INTELLECTUALS/RESEARCHERS TRY TO TAKE A BREATH IN PEACE !!!!!
The presence of intelligent and expert people is beneficial for any society. Educated people will move to the places where they get good job, working environment, recognition and money and this will benefit for the development of that region.
Several questions have already been asked on this topic, because it concerns us greatly as intellectuals. I quite agree that researchers would move to places where they are able to survive and their work can thrive. In fact, many Indians have moved to other countries and I see that they are happy working there. Lijo Francis is doing well in KAUST, Saudi Arabia, and Md Ayaz is also in Saudi Arabia. Ayaz is on RG.
Brain drain is a balancing factor! Where competent and skilled people are valued and needed more --- will go there!
Brain drain, refers to the emigration of intelligent, well-educated individuals to somewhere for better pay or conditions, --- causing the place they came from to lose those skilled people, or "brains --- benefits the country where skilled people go.
Today the exchange of intellectuals between countries is not fair because benefit the richest countries in detriment of the poorest one. This is a real fact. However, we should recognize that is not enough to solve the problem. The political and economical situation in the poorest countries and the lack of resources and in some cases of interest in the government of these countries in certain areas, gives no other choice for well-educated people leave the country trying to find a good work for a better life and professional opportunities.
You can easily see in some poor, and in not so poor countries as well, that the politicians and the military classes are living well beyond the level of life of the immense majority of professionals, spending a lot of money on the armed forces, in keeping some groups of politicians in power and using the public money in their own benefits, among other things. Under such conditions why you are asking well-educated professionals that could do an excellent work for the country to suffer economic restrictions, receive a salary well below other salaries in the country, including sportsmen in specific sports, and work under drastic conditions while others have a living standard well above them. He/she should have the right to improve the welfare of his/her family, including finding this in another country. If a country wish to keep its professionals, then it should treat them as they deserve it.
Many good US professionals are working in other countries, because of the reasons mentioned above and nobody take care of that, and the same thing happens with other rich countries as well, but of course in a more reduced scale.
the migration of intellectuals is a shame for the country that has investid a lot of time and effort into preparing them. It is all over the loss of human resources and the future.
I'm trying my best not to leave my country... It is hard but, for the moment, I'm fighting! Anyway, it is all going to spread worldwide, even researcher and minds! Let's spread intelligents everywhere, it can only be a good thing.
Import / Export of Intellectuals can be a powerful driver of growth and profitability for many businesses all over the world. They can build up their knowledge and confidence from many training opportunities and a wealth of advice and information resources. They can learn from the practical experiences of others and gain on-the-ground insights by attending trade missions.

The Brain Drain means that developing countries struggle to develop because the best skilled and highly educated individuals leaves the economy. Thus it becomes hard to break the cycle of losing the best workers. The Developing countries suffer in many ways:
I think that the countries that receive brains will benefits with them, because they have not invested on their education and profits from their skills.
While a brain drain is beneficial, its flaws are inherent in its title, since it usually involves the loss of human capital, i.e. a skilled labour force which is vital to the development of society and the country as a whole. In the case of skilled manpower, Alam et al. recognise emigration of these skilled workers as “essentially providing personal benefits for individuals rather than public benefits”.[165]
The brain drain benefits individuals more than society; however, “implementing policies to reduce their movement”, according to Skeldon, "is in effect to act against the process of development”.[162] This means society is inadvertently caught in a catch-22 scenario, whereby "allowing the Brain Drain to continue is likely to result in knowledge being distributed unevenly"[161] across space, resulting in a fall in economic development for either the country of origin or destination countries.
It is really gratifying, for example, to visit India now and see that because they've had good educational institutions, and they've had a focus on it, there are more and more people in India participating in the world economy.
