Just sharing my experience.
1. Happened 25 years ago - I just joined in a school (higher secondary), knew no one. On that day I had a dream - a boy beating the teacher. The next day, to my surprise, one of the teacher caught hold this student chewing something - got angry -punished him. This incidence is still in memory and I always wonder about this.
Kindly share if you think (or experience) there is a relationship between our dreams and real life events.

Thank you for the great topic of discussion.
Though I am not an expert on this topic, yet, I am participating in this discussion. The human mind has many layers. The conscious, the subconscious, the unconscious are these layers. It is very easy to reach the conscious layer. That is why, we are sometimes forced to believe that this is the only layer that exists. The other layers are also equally strong but the problem with them is that they cannot be accessed that easily. So we fail to understand many a times what is going on there. There are many thoughts in those layers towards which we gravitate knowingly or unknowingly. That is why, our dreams arise from the various layers of our mind, particularly from the subconscious state. Thus, they have a strong connection with our reality.
To sum up, I think dreams and real life events have some connection.

It has been said that all people have dreams, but many do not remember dreams when they wake up. I remember dreams very seldom, maybe twice a year. But my dreams usually reflect my current preoccupations (cares). A "bad dream" is a sign that I intend to do something that is (will be) not good for me. Such has been my experience. I do not think that dreams "predict" things, but they reflect my cares.
Dear Professor Anamitra Roy, I duly noted down your point that the thought process takes place at three layers and - dreams arise from the various layers of our mind, particularly from the subconscious state.
It happened in few cases - but what happened in the real life was just opposite of what I saw in my dreams. Could not remember dreams (or its connection) in the recent past.

As per my understanding, dreams have no connection with real life events. Dreams are our own wishes and that we usually see in our dreams but real life actually is very different, hard and tough. Real life events are those which we are required to accept irrespective of our dreams....

Usually, if you are preoccupied by something and think about it may be too much, you dream about it. Some people claim that their dreams always come true, and some claim that their dreams are always the opposite of what happen.

Dreams are of three types. Some times we are having some thing in mind ans we see. Second are get frightened with heart rate and pulse elivated by things we see. Third is we see some thing either same or its opposite heppen. Such dreams are under controle of controller of this universe.

Not at all...it's my personal experience...dreams are never going to be true in real life. Real life is full of struggle, problems and hardships.

Yes it has relation, but there is problem in interpretation of a deam. Everyone is not expert in interpretation.

Continuous bad dreams are indicator of vitamin D deficiency.
If someone is vitamin C deficient, s/he will not be able to keep a remember.

Reality is misunderstood. It’s a crude blatant realization of what's to come at the moment, with little to no predictability. In comparison, dreams each represent something, put forward pieces of information that piece together our state of mind and viewpoint in a less obvious way. Each dream in particular, if looked at from the right angle can be read and give a detailed description of your current mental state in the real world. No matter how pointless the dream may seem, try to analyze it by comparing it with your current thought process and social situation. It could mean anything, sure dreams aren’t limited by the physical capabilities of the real world.

Some dreams are distinct and their interpretation takes a long time for these visions to be realized, when I was young I saw a vision that fulfilled the first part of it after ten years, and still, the other part did not come true now and the other ten years have passed. And I think it will come true soon, so there are visions that take a long time to be realized in reality. Dreams are the book of the story, giving every scene in detail. You can have such dream while being awaken, this ability is rare.

Today, there are several theories explaining what our brain is doing during sleep. According to one of them, he analyzes the information received over the past day. This is what explains the emergence of certain images that are formed in dreams.

For example: a person sees in a dream his friend whom he has not seen for many years. And he's impressed by that. Why did he dream about this friend? And he completely unconsciously begins to visit, visit the places where he communicated with a friend, where he lives, perhaps lived before or lives now, and thus increasing the likelihood that the meeting will take place in reality, and it really happens.
The practice of lucid dreaming does exist. This is a separate area. A very interesting direction. Until now, lucid or lucid dreams remain a mystery, despite the fact that some ideas are proposed, possible explanations. All the same, a lot is not clear to us. And therefore, this special area of work of our psyche must be approached with great caution. The technique of lucid dreaming is used not only in spiritual practices with the aim of knowing oneself. It is quite actively used by psychotherapists to treat phobias, addictions. Doctors are sure that dreams can help solve a number of psychological problems, because in a dream we are not afraid of failures and failures.
Neuroscientists have been able to recreate the visual images that appeared in the head while watching randomly selected videos. This means that the day is not far off when we will be able to record our dreams, like on tape, and watch them during the day and analyze the information that our body sends us.

Yes i think dreams and real life events are connected because whatever we think, we speak,and we learn becomes the part of our dreams. Dreams can be productive or destructive.. Productive in the sense if we are able you remember our good dreams and try to make them real by hard work. Destructive in the sense that if some negative dream comes to our mind then it may make us feel bad. How dreams are linked to real life event? It is a scientific question. Some research on the brain neurological patterns may add new knowledge and by assessing cellular activity while sleeping. Our dreams are unique everyday. Very rarely we have repetitive dreams. Dreams are mysterious and at the same time are fascinating.

My take: Is this only about images, not sound or other things (can't we (feel) the taste in dreams......

My take: I have seen - me flying (very fast) - but I was bothered/ worried about meeting an accident/ falling down (in dream).

Dream is reflection of our mind which make take a shape for thinking a right shape of action & it is likely that this may also turn out to be an action of day dreaming for our right manner . This in turn out to be a Dream during our sleeping period presenting just as the picture in our mind with the positive reshape of our thinking .
There is possibility that this mode of dreaming may not to often out to be an exact result but it may offer a good food of thought for our mind .With this certain family problems including illness of the member of our family create very often a dismal picture in our mind & because of our sensitive mode in such situation may very often turn out to be a Dream of a correct picture which we may be required to under go .

certainly yes, dreams are recreated when we least expect them and have a positive impact on our lives
I believe that dreams cease to be dreams not when we wake up, but when we feel that they are "recreated" in a reality that seems to us to have lived before ...
evidently! although dreams must be placed in their other dimension parallel to "real life" because from that other dimension they intervene in real life at the right time
I do think so dreams and real life events have some connection. Usually, what we think and draw the imagination of about our daily life, I think dream is the one kind of unconscious reflection of that thinking and imaginations. Wishes the best.
yes sir.. if we think a lot about something particularly it may come in our dream sir. and proven that 95% of dreams will be forgotten. then researchers says that During a typical lifetime, people spend an average of six years dreaming.

Actual dreams that occur in the rapid eye movement (REM) phase of sleeping occurs with concurrent switching off of anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), which is our rationality filter.
