To induce the diiferentiation of SaOS-2 cells, researchers suggest using L-ascorbic acid, dexametasone and beta-glycerophosphate. However, unfortunatelly, beta-glycerophosphate has not arrived from the company I bought it from, though I found some alpha-glycerophosphate. MP Biomedicals say it is also used as a phosphate ion donor for osteoblasts, though I couldn't find any research paper based on the use of the alpha isomer. Do you think it could work in my medium as a differentiation agent for SaOS-2 cells?
