I have found in the collection of the exotic Scarabaeidae of the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg this strange species labelled "Mimanomala velatipennis Ohaus.
A series of several specimen from Kondué (Zaire) was identified by this well-known Scarab-specialist in 1909. Nonetheless, neither the Catalogue Junk nor further on-line catalogues mention this species.
Do you know anything about it?

Search did not yield positive result. Probably there is some mistake in Catalogue.

Specimens with a similar label should be present in Berlin and maybe Brussels or Tervuren in boxes containing Anomala or Mimela species.

Mimanomala seems not a published name.
Carsten Zorn supposed that this species is an Anomala of the subcastanea group.
He also forwarded the question to Pol Limbourg (IRSNB), who replied:
"Yes the species is (probably) lujae Ohaus, 1911 described from Kondué but I never heard any Mimanomala velatipennis !? I agree with you about similarity between semicastanea and species of laevigata group, habitus and aedeagus are quite similar".
