To remove organic colloids, I would suggest sequentially introducing a coagulant (for example, iron / aluminum sulfates or chlorides) and a non-ionic flocculant into the water to be treated. After that, it is necessary to clarify the water. Residual suspended solids can be removed in a self-cleaning disc filter or sand filter.
Based on my experience, I can also say that electroflotation is highly effective in removing organic impurities. The method is based on water electrolysis on insoluble electrodes and flotation effect. During electroflotation pollutants rise to the surface of the wastewater, carried by floating micro-bubbles of electrolytic gases.
