Now a days, the journals quality are asessed by the impact factor (IF) of the journal. Usually, the IF estimated by Clarivate analytics are well accepted. Do you have any idea that only Clarivate analytics are estimated IF?
# Impact factor: Impact factor is commonly used to evaluate the relative importance of a journal within its field and to measure the frequency with which the “average article” in a journal has been cited in a particular time period. Journal which publishes more review articles will get highest IFs.

Yes. But personally I feel upset (as a mathematician) when people comparing (me) with other science discipline since The percentage of total citations occurring in the first two years after publication varies highly among disciplines from 1–3% in the mathematical and physical sciences to 5–8% in the biological sciences and other. Thus impact factors cannot be used to compare journals across disciplines. Impact factors are sometimes used to evaluate not only the journals but the papers therein, thereby devaluing papers in certain subjects.

The IF estimated by Clarivate analytics (previously it was Thomson Reuters) are well accepted. However, Sometimes I have seen that several open access journals declared their website that their journal have high IF, and also they have written the vale of IF. But, this IF are not estimated by Clarivate analytics. Do you have any idea on this.
Dear Mahammad Khuddush one should not bother about IF. Being consistent and publishing as much as it is practical is better than wasting ur time in finding top tire journal.

The annual JCR impact factor is a ratio between citations and recent citable items published. Thus, the impact factor of a journal is calculated by dividing the number of current year citations to the source items published in that journal during the previous two years
The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric index calculated by Clarivate that reflects the yearly average number of citations that articles published in the last two years in a given journal received. It is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field; journals with higher impact factors are often deemed to be more important than those with lower ones.

Apart from Impact factor, Elsevier had recently launched Scopus cite score for all Scopus indexed journals and u can track the citescore of a journal realtime. It is more transparent than IF which is calculated only by clarivate analytics.

@ Abdul Hei, I associate with your responses. The impact factor (IF) of a journal is the ratio of frequency at which the papers published in a journal are cited over a period. So the more the papers in a journal are cited, the higher the journal's IF after calculation.
