Yes....it is one of the most celebrated festivals in Tamilnadu, INDIA....DIWALI literally means "Festival of Lights" signifying the triumph of "light over darkness" or "good over evil", "knowledge over ignorance", and "hope over despair"...
Thank you so much for detailed explanation related to Diwali and other activities related to Diwali. I was in Tamilnadu Two years back. I was there during Jan 15 and people were celebrating one festival (I forgot the name), there was also state holiday. It was very difficult to travel as public transpiration were not easily available at that time. Any way I enjoyed it a lot.
Yes, I witnessed such happy anniversary in Dubai, but really I have no idead about it, anyway, Happy Diwali to all RG colleagues. We all need happy days.
Diwali is the festival of light and people enjoy it irrespective of any religious ideological thought. This is a part of religious harmony. I have seen people of different religious back ground enjoy with Christmas. New generations are liberal regarding religion.
Dear Hom, thank you for posting this question. I appreciate all the answer since this gives me the chance to learn something new. So, Happy Diwali:))))
