Last 50 years we have a new way of scientific working that of the 'Big Projects'.

Many countries co-operate and create a big organization like CERN, LIGO (in Physics) or IMF, OECD (in international Economics).

Then a proper Committee decides and plans the working objectives of each project and time period, for example:

  • CERN planned to find the so called 'Higgs boson' or 'God's particle'
  • LIGO decided to detect the so called 'gravitational waves'
  • IMF had as task to save Greece after 2010 financial collapse
  • OECD had as mission to re-schedule Greek Economy

In all cases there exist a big number of scientists who work under a hierarchy towards the agreed task completion.

There also exists a kind of web-portal where they put 'logfiles' or technical reports or articles that have not been accepted as formal publications under a peer review journal yet.

Finally after the results have been released, some kind of publications follow and then comes the Press and Mass Media announcements for the global public.

But, if we read carefully the announced results we find that:

  • they have not been verified under formal review process
  • they are not even well written under common standards (bad visualization for output of billion dollars)
  • they refer to 'papers' that are just 'arXiv' like repositories
  • they publish in one only journal
  • for example LIGO  publishes mainly in PRL, see here:
  • CERN publishes in 4 main publishers:
  • IMF self publishes, see here:
  • OECD also self publishes:

Then all kind of media reproduce the output as a scientifically been verified one and sometimes, as in CERN & LIGO, we are exposed in a massive brain wash process in order to accept quickly the result.

If we do not accept the announcement and check deeper, then we can find next issues, example is from LIGO project:

  • https://www.researchgate.net/publication/304623546
  • https://www.researchgate.net/publication/301593709

If we look CERN's big achievement, see Nobel Prize advanced information:

http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/2013/advanced-physicsprize2013.pdf

and more precisely the Figure 5, then we see that:

  • a 13.25 billion dollars project
  • http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexknapp/2012/07/05/how-much-does-it-cost-to-find-a-higgs-boson/
  • used a 4th order polynomial regression in order to convince us that has found the 'God's particle'!

As for IMF, it has accepted its false predictions about Greece:

  • https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/wp/2013/wp1301.pdf

As for OECD, it is the 'richest 23 countries club', see:

We could write more and more.

The main question is:

  • Do you accept as scientifically been verified the announcements and papers from big project collaborations like CERN, LIGO or IMF, OECD?
