Who makes viral videos and for what reasons? How does a video become viral? With what means? One example I can think of is 'K-Pop Star Psy's "Gangnam Style" Video Goes Viral'.
A viral video is a video that becomes popular through the process of Internet sharing, typically through video sharing websites such as youtube, social media such as facebook and email. There could be many reasons for this such as humor, human interest, interesting aspect, novelty, etc. With the proliferation of smart phones the reach has now really gone up.
A recent incident came up here in our local social media. Some family took video of nurses attending to their loved one. Unforunately I heard more of humiliating words than thankful words to the nurses..which lead to more stressful scenes like yelling and hitting. Somehow this video was leaked.. Im not sure intentionally or not...in which most of the locals here felt that the fault of the scene comes from this family not the nurses. At first, the viral video looks like wanting to tell people that those nurses were not doing a good job. I guess it made a turnback.
Art forms and practices are emotional outlets.. the recent Gangnam Style is more additive as that comes in another form of expression and enjoyment... Of course it is viral ... but no one stops that those steps can be even practiced for motivating people when they achieve good academic results..
It all depends on the video .............viral videos can be damaging if the content is defamatory or it can assist if it's creative, informative, humorous etc.
