Of course, there are a lot of scientific concepts in the religious books that are worth studying in the religious books , including the Holy Quran where reference is made on many occasions to a lot of scientific concepts that have been recently discovered in modern science.
Every religion for every nation remains the guideline for the devotee & in this case devotees with his prayer & wisdom try to understand & also to accept the basic code of living of his life. This help him to keep his mind calm & quite for understanding any problem of his life including in his study .
yes, there some chapters in my holy injunction (Bible) which shows how some patriarchs displayed animal breeding techniques, irrigation, genetic engineering to mention but few.I strongly believe religious books can help in scientific struggles.
In one way or another, religious books also relate historical texts, from there, you can get information through which, investigate and analyze, processes that were made in ancient
The firmer and more informed are our beliefs, we are better practitioners of religion and this along with scientific knowledge, expand our knowledge horizon our general culture.
Then, to be more educated and informed, we have broader and comparative theoretical perspectives and practices of different perspectives of knowledge, among them, scientific knowledge.
Religious books aim at regulating the moral attitudes of the believers. As such, they have a great bearing on the mindset of the individuals by advocating perseverance, planting the seeds of hope, and breathing meaning into their lives. These attributes are certainly very important in the life of a scientist. In point of fact, the ethical and moral values addressed by religions pave the way for scientific endeavors boosting up the grit required to pursue scientific goals.
As Reza Biria correctly says, some religious books can contribute to scientific endeavor by having a bearing on the psychology of scientists and their moral values (although not without some cherrypicking). And as Ivan David Lozada Martinez correctly suggests, like most texts of that kind, there will be at least some references that may be useful to historians (although historians by and large don't think of themselves as scientists). But as regards actual scientific content as per Nafees Mohammad's long list, not of much use there. Certainly nothing you would put into a scientific textbook for the purpose of training young scientists.
Religious books were actualy written with some philosophical ideas.
So, all were under philosophy and interlinked during the said period.
But many books were written afterwards by actually some BAD people for some personal gain or to get fame and announced as some books of religion. Many of these are actually some novels.
A large section of people who are either illiterate or literate but unable to understand the actual meaning or essence of religious books consider these dangerous books as a part of religion.
So people are misguided and consider prejudices and practices as the actual religion.
Thus, to most of the common people, religion do not carry any philosophical thoughts.
So, such religions or so called religious books have NO relation with science.
Each age (and era) has seen fights for supremacy and dominance. Some people have tried to use religion as an instrument, has opposed new scientific (theory) developments on the name of previous people and books (and hence old scientific theories).
The religious books that were written for wellness of human being are lights for future for ever. But books (including religious books) written four supremacy/dominance or money-making pushes us to darkness.
Such books spread hatred.
I appreciate the answer by Shibabrata Pattanayak , and also partially by Artur Braun .
This is one of the thousands of words of Faithful Prince (Ali) which have been proven by modern science. So my answer certainly is Yes, religious books are a real astrologer for those who can deal with the words of great ancient scientists. Finally, I give you this beautiful wisdom of the Faithful Prince (Ali) which he said :
"Scientists remain whatever life remain
Their tiredness are missing, and their effects are keeping in the heart."
Religious books generally describe about socio-economic conditions during the period the religions were evolving. So, such books can be topic or research of historians, social scientists.
Religious books are always full with examples of metaphors. As such they can be a source of inspiration for scientifc research. Religion an science are not contradictory realities. As Einstein once remarked science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind,
Before the 14th centuries in the Holy Book of Qur'an the following verse was published:
"Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe? [Surat Al-Anbiya', 30]
Science was later, through Kant-Laplase theory, Big bang theory, and the like. explained that the sky and the earth were one whole, and that from that whole, later, galaxies, stars, planets, etc. were formed.
Also, science later explained that life originated from water, that is, without water, no life.
There are also other scientific truths mentioned in Qur'an.
It is not excluded that many scientists read sacred books and thus get inspiration for scientific research and discovery.
To the scientists and engineers here: How exactly did the Quran or Bible help you in your scientific education? Was it one of the required texts in your introductory physics classes? Was it a source for contriving experimental demonstrations used by your instructors? Did it provide descriptions of mechanical principles or chemical reactions that you were able to put to use? Was there anything that you learned and were examined on in your scientific education that required using the Quran or Bible as a textual reference or study guide?
