Career anchors is a term made familiar by Schein. It is said that " A “Career Anchor” is a combination of perceived areas of competence, motives, and values relating to professional work choices. ". I am just assuming that people pursue the same career anchors during retirement just as they did during paid employment. But is that true? Past careers are destinies? Or do some people change tracks more probably than others? For example: Do pediatricians just dont want to know about children and children´s illnesses after retirement but lawyers will never stop arguing if there is something to be gained? [questions have no basis. They are just random questions]. Please contribute. If any data or paper, will be highly appreciated.
