Eduard is right. Brass will have a) fluorescence that might interfere with your measurements and b) will not be sufficiently opaque for Mo k alpha and the high energy part of the tube's x-ray spectrum (especially at the rims). You should use Ta or W slits or any high W content alloy. Mo itself is also an option.
