I have performed texture coefficient calculations and found that the highest intensity peaks doesn't represent a higher texture coefficient. Presence of some high intensity peaks with very low intensity values according to JCPDS makes these peaks with higher coefficient. Is there any suitable cross-check for the texture coefficient calculations made through XRD? In case carbides, sulphides are available in an XRD pattern, texture coefficient calculations through a XRD is a preferable method? Please let me know about your views.
High intensities alone do not say anything. The secret is the relative change...and this can result from low intense peaks as well. But you have to tale all reflexes into account. Nevertheless, I am still not absolutely sure about the intention why do you do this and what do you expect? How do you calculate your texture coefficients?
Have you carried out phi scans at different chi values at these peaks? If your sample has large domains with different textures and structures, you can pick them out by this method. Applicable to all samples.

A simple quick 2D photographic film exposure will give you more information than all the hours of machinations to acquire the "texture" analysis data.
