Though picture is not quiet clear, the photo appears to a sedge contrary to many suggestions from colleagues. The genus could be Cyperus, in the family CYPERACEAE. I may be wrong or correct.

Yes! it looks like Spergula arvensis and I think it is the same but if anybody is able to provide me pictures of other species of Spergula that will help me a lot.
This is definitey spergula arvensis, which is very common weed in indo-gangetic plains in India in rabi season (winter season) in most of the field crops.
