I am doing DNA extraction using CTAB method from different fungal strains including monilinia spp. isolated from peach. My DNA concentration is very low. Is there any suggestion to improve the quality and quantity of DNA.
it may be that if the dna amounts are very low that it is not all precipitating so try adding a co precipitant like glycogen which will also precipitate but will bring down more of your dna with it

I use CTAB method for a lot of fungi species and it’s useful.
It is necessary for you to do this method step by step carefully.
There are many details.
Some fungi are produced secondary metabolites so it can make some problems.
As a trick I suggest you to use mercaptoethanol for increasing the DNA concentration (add 1 μl with 700 μl CTAB buffer for each sample).
