I am writing a qualitative thesis about digital transformation (DT) and competitive advantages of banks. My main research question is how banks use DT do defend existing and develop new competitive advantages. As a theoretical basis, I want to use the Dynamic Capabilities theory. At the core, I assume that DT is about value creation as shown in the process model of Vial (2019). therefore, I want to follow Warner and Wäger (2019) that conceptualize DT as a process of building dynamic capabilities. Sensing opportunities from the digitalization and building seizing and transforming capabilities to make changes to the value creation processes and the organization are therefore important for a strategy that leads to competitive advantages.

Any suggestions or comments on this model?
