I am confused by Schmid Factor analysis during tension and compression. Is there any difference between compression and tension for Schmid Factor?
I am testing compression response of micropillars with different orientations as attached. I want to know which pillar deforms via twinning (leading partial) and which one through perfect dislocation glide. The contour plots are calculated assuming no difference between compression and tension. Is the any direction dependence?
Attached are the Schmid factor (m) contour plots.

The Schmid factor only displays a value considering a lattice plane and a lattice direction. When both are identical in compression and tension there won't be any difference. But in your images the planes are only identical but the directions are not. However, tension and compression are in general not identical even if the loding axis is identical. Imagine a bunch of fibers how they will react under compression or under tension.
