I think yes . that an antibody designed for ELISA will work for IHC because the product used to immunized is often a peptide, and the antibody recognizes the denatured protein .
You may see technical Data Sheet or contact the technical services of the antibody companies to discuss whether those antibodies are also suitable for IHC.

Hi, in ELISA the coated antibody is usually a polyclonal since it is more likely to capture most of the antigen. The detection Ab is often a labeled MoAb to provide specificity in the detection.
This not an absolute rule because it all depends on the antigen, available antibodies and their specificities. I have seen ELISAs using 2 MoAbs or 2 polys.
