Motor vehicle accident is the most frequent personal injury compensation claim, the most common injury being to neck and back. (US Dept Justice and National Law Review, 2022). It is also the most costly workers’ compensation lost time claim. (National Council on Compensation Insurance, 2022). We are developing an assessment for engagement in rehabilitation, among those sustaining motor vehicle accidents with neck and back injury, other than SCI. The peer reviewed proposal describes how the measure will use contextual factors, thus actual behaviors, rather than just intentions, as the criteria for engagement, and how it will employ cause and effect principles rather those confounded by labor market factors. We are requesting suggestions for industry funding for our team to proceed with the development.
