Analysis of deuterated ethanol would require gas chromatograph coupled with mass spectrometry. Also, You can use headspace -GC or SPME + GC equipment.

Totally agree, GC in combination with mass spectrometry is certainly necessary for labelled components, SPME would be a good choice for small amounts of sample material.
