We are able to identify a cluster of ecoli phages (commercial suspension) stained with SYBR Gold (or Green I) but cannot develop a protocol for counting marine viruses (virioplankton samples) for several months. Is it really impossible to use FC 500 for this purpose? Did somebody have any experience of using this instrument to study marine viruses? Many thanks for your help!
