Can someone share where and what size paper straw they recommend for storing tree cores? In the USA.

I have tried numerous brands of straws and they are repeatedly too small for my tree cores. I am using a 5.15 mm diameter (.20") increment borer. My study species is extremely sappy, the cores are themselves very wet and sticky and are difficult to slide into even appropriately sized straws.

I have bought all my straws so far online, where they either do not list the diameter, or it is listed incorrectly. Numerous times I have bought straws that said the diameter was .25" and it turns out it was not, or they must have measured the diameter including the width of the paper straw itself.

The best straws I have found worked great and alas are sold out online.

Any recommendations would be great. Thanks.
