It is a very interesting topic. Within the biomarkers of oxidative stress you can quantify: hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide, peroxynitrite, enzymes such as inducible nitric oxide synthase, glutathione peroxidase, catalase. On the other hand, you can quantify biomarkers of oxidative damage: carbonylated proteins, 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanosine, lipid peroxidation, 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal. And in order to give a different approach to the conventional one that I am mentioning you can measure the ratio oxidized glutathione / reduced glutathione (cellular redox state), NADPH / NADP ratio, in addition to the NADPH generating enzymes in the cell such as glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase, malic enzyme, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase. Investigate a little more and as the hepatocytes are very active metabolically, it would be a very interesting work.
