As long as I know, DEAE Dextran can mediate the delivery of nucleic acid into mammalian cells during transfection process. Can DEAE Dextran also mediate the delivery/internalization of the whole virus (not only it's genetic material) to mammalian cells?

yes it is imprtent stap for infect cell culture with viruses, i was treated a several cells lines with DEAE Dextran for 30 to 6o min. before infect with bovine leukemia virus.

Firstly you have to infect the cells in different MOI(multiplicity of infection) as per your protocol then encapsulate the payload within DEAE dextran for site specific delivery hope you will find interesting results
