I and my daughter (Svetlana Shadrina, MSc student of Microbiolgy Dep., St/ Petersburg, Russia) are interested in cyanobacteria study, mostly in hypersaline environment. Her main topic is potentially toxigenic cyanobacteria. I have(with my Moscow and Indian colleagues) one paper in Russian on Cyanobacteria of South India - Tamil Nadu- salt ponds. I have some paper in English, can send you(addresss?)
Nickolai Shadrin, can you UPLOAD please the full text of your paper in the FILES section of this group please. Then, tell us here that you've done that so we can download it from there, is much simpler. That is the purpose of the FILES section ( right side of the screen of the group page.
Yes sir, You are absolutely correct. I humbly wish to inform you that I work there. I just wanted to know who works on cyanobacteria in this particular group. Thank you.
Great! Who is now the Director of the centre? What are the major activities today?
I visited this facility several years back. we worked on marine bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes associated with sedentary fauna of Orissa coast. Are u still in the DOD project?
Sir, Dr. Uma is the present director of NFMC, i think you might know her. The founder was G. Subramanian, you should know any one of them. No, I am not in DOD project. That got over long back. At present we have four research groups in our facility. Our group is working on, carbon dioxide sequestration, biodiesel, uranium sequestration, hydrogen production, moleuclar taxonomy of cyanobacteria and cyanobacterial bioinformatics. We work only with Marine cyanobacteria. No, we don't work on hypersaline forms and its association with actinomycetes.
