With my students, we've decided to improve teacher student experimental training via sensory analysis inclusion into their lab work. Brief research has provided only limited number of papers with this topic, also, we haven't found papers which would suggest concrete compounds and concentrations to taste.
Could anyone help me, please?
Sensory analysis started with being subjective, it has now evolved into a very objective tool to understand sensory characteristics of food and food preference.
At a high school level, I would suggest the following understanding:
1. Bias - Sensory evaluation if full if bias and elemination of bias is the key to bringing in the objectivity. Blind evaluation and procedures for the same. Effect of various environmental conditions or effects on the sensory characteristics, example - a pink sugar solution is sweeter than a blue sugar solution.
2. Basic differentiation tests like Paired comparion, traingle test, ranking.
3. Basics of Statistical analysis and consumer testing - Understanding the statistical concepts and its effect on the end result - acceptance or rejection at teh consumer testing.
I have not come across standard text suitable for school level. You will have to extract the relevant from the standard text books.

Dear Martin. Do I correctly understand that you need experiments for secondary school classes? In that case I have something good for you: Don Maclean long ago published a booklet with 14 foolproof experiments. I myself translated it into Dutch. It has a comprehensive teacher guide.Most likely I can find the English originals somewhere in my private library. I can send them to you if you like. Best regards,
