I am trying to perform a mixed ANOVA to compare the effects of two teaching methods on a group of students at three different points in time. I have read that parametric tests must not be used on ordinal data. However, after testing my variables using Shapiro-Wilk test, all of them meet the criteria for a normal distribution.
Would I concur in a methodological mistake if I performed a Mixed ANOVA?
Thanks. It was self-confidence in performing a task, which was measured with a Likert scale using scores from 0-100.
Thanks for your replies. I am not a statistician, but I know enough to get my head around your answers. However, I have read about both suggested options (PERMANOVA with a Bray-Curtis dissimilarity measure and UniODA) and still have not understood how they would allow me to compare, after an educational intervention, the variable 'self-efficacy' (measured with a questionnaire, therefore ordinal) between two different groups at 3 different moments in time. All of this, taking into consideration that every evaluation of the variable influences the following one. (Basically what a Mixed ANOVA does for numeric variables that meet the criteria)
