Hello all,

Could someone please explain me the difference between single precipitation event and continuous precipitation event?

Just to understand it with the help of an example, for say, if I have daily precipitation data for 'x' months (where 0 mm rainfall days also exist) and I want to estimate runoff for 'x' months using precipitation as a single event, in what form should I take my precipitation input? Should it be average of x months' precipitation data or should it be daily precipitation data.

Similarly, if I want to estimate runoff using precipitation as a continuous event, in what form should I take my precipitation input?

Hope I have made myself clear!

Thanks & Regards

Akanksha
