The American Psychological Association has a set of free ebooks on the Teaching of Psychology. Most are edited collections; scroll down and you’ll see one titled, “Teaching Statistics and Research Methods: Tips from ToP.” APA also has a “Project Syllabus” with sample syllabi from courses organized by class topic (including research methods).
