Do you mean mathematical misunderstandings? There is an excellent paper by Matz on high school algebra errors in a book by Sleeman. It is a bit old now but still relevant. You could use it to do a forward search on Google Scholar using the Cited by link.

Mary E. Little (2009) in this article has discussed in detail, the issues and solutions in mathematics teachings with students having learning, disabilities and not having learning disabilities (sometimes in mathematics learning, all students with adequate intellect and cognitive powers, behave as they have learning disabilities; it is opinion from my personal experience ,and I might be wrong). I hope it will help.

"Current legislation, reforms and revised curriculum standards in mathematics focus attention on research-based instruction for all students. Difficulties with learning mathematics occur in one or more domains and on a continuum of needs, from temporary to severe problems, which may manifest at different points in a child’s learning. Multiple instructional approaches and interventions may be necessary, since difficulties may be encountered at different ages and in different mathematical domains. Various research based instructional approaches and meta cognitive strategies both enhance and scaffold instruction for student mastery of abstract concepts (National Math Advisory Panel, 2008), especially within inclusive math classes (McLeskey, Hoppey, Williamson and Rentz, 2004; Miller and Hudson, 2007)".
