I have performed a bio-refinery simulation on Aspen Plus using non-conventional components. Now, what I am willing to do is to specify one of the product (non-conventional) into a mixture of some conventional compounds (based on mass fractions from experiment).
Do you know of any such procedure without going back into defining a assay/pseudo?

You can create your product in the component list (as a non-conventional), later, for example, if you are using a Ryield reactor you can use the compattribute sheet in the Ryield specification for your product. If you mean by "a mixture of some conventional compounds" something different to Ultimate analysis, then you can try with the general analysis specification. I have never worked with Genanal before but in principle is like Ultanal.

you would need to either write a fortran code in a calculation block to update the the mass fractions in your RYield conversion reactor based on your non-conventional feed, or you could perform a mass closure calculation in excel or Matlab or GAMS and use that as input for your RYield fractions. If the latter, make sure you use the same decimal accuracy as aspen, to avoid any warnings from the calc. routine about elemental balance. Non-conventional components have no molecular weight, but you would need to write stoiciometric reaction in RSTOIC. (for example NC--> A+B) but to find coefficients for A and B which are Conventional then you must first speciy than in properties then you need to write in a Calculator block a small routine which will calulte the stoiciometric coefficients. if need more help contact me.

I want to make a reaction of multicipal solid waste (MSW) which is a non-conventional component. then, I want to feed this into reducer (Rstoic) with the reaction CxHxOxNxSx + Fe2O3 -> CO2 + aH2O + bFeO + cFe.
