There's an interesting problem in CFD simulation I'd like to discuss with you guys. Leonard 1979 developed a 3rd spatial accuracy scheme for convective term in Navier-Stokes equation. It is widely used but suffers conditional stable requirement. Yet, Hayase 1992 reformulated Leonard's QUICK according to Patankar's 4 rules, to be a more stable scheme. But I can't see the difference between the two, these formulae are identical. Could someone tell the difference? Any help is appreciated.

Be careful, QUICK scheme was originally mainly proposed for steady problems, while Leonard developed QUICKEST successively for unsteady problems.

Filippo Maria Denaro ,Really appreciate your help and recommendation. The 2nd or 3rd order accuracy is to some extent misleading. Leonard himself published a paper Elliptic systems:Finite-difference method IV in book Handbook of numerical heat transfer 1988. He explained this problem very carefully and also gave QUICKEST analysis and boundary condition settings. You read that paper, don't you. Thank you Filippo.
