Good afternoon. I've read some articles that perform centrifugation as part of the synthesis, but I've also read some are not. What I want to ask, is it a must for the researcher to perform centrifugation to change AgNP form? From solution into pellet. Also, is it okay not to perform it?

Centrifugation is an efficient and simple method for separation of various nanoparticles.Since NPs have small sizes filtering by using filter paper may not work.
In addition, Ag NPs are usually synthesized in basic solution and pouring this solution on a filter paper is not recommended.

The good idea is to decant the suspension and take away water by syringe from upper portion. Finally, you can dry the suspension in a oven at 40 degree cel.
If decantation is used for separation of a suspension how can you be sure that all the unreacted materials are not left in the suspension?
