CAS - Experiences and Promises for the Future
Agriculture is more than just growing and harvest crop that may be consumed or processed as food. The production, food processing and distribution of locally grown aggro-food products potentially will lead to an increase in food security and overall public health, therefore reducing public health-care costs.
Small and medium size urban and rural farming is encouraged; a major instrument against hunger and poverty can be Community Supported Agriculture (CAS).
We discuss the current and potential of urban agriculture on community food security. We can discus some of the challenges facing urban agriculture and we should find solutions, ways that these might be addressed, along with ways that such activity under CAS can be promoted.
Farmers, professors, agriculture and food specialists are encouraged to share their experiences, good or bad as to be able to find together solutions. Students are welcomed to share their ideas as well.
