I got a IR spectrum of Gum Arabic and two bands appear around 1600 and 1400 cm-1 respectively. I found these bands are related to carboxylate ion but I got the spectrum of the Gum Arabic powder. It's possible or correct to say that the IR bands correspond to COO- ion?
