I have some pellets of P chrysosporium grown in PDB and YE for 7 days at 30 degrees. These pellets were washed with phosphate buffer and supplied with an energy source (glucose) for a degradation set-up. I am just wondering which process should I do to extract intracellular and extracellular metabolites to be analysed for q-TOF. I am reading some articles now but of course, people here have had a firsthand experience on this matter. Thank you in advance!

Have you tried any organic solvent to extract the extracellular metabolites?You can start with ethyl acetate or hexane.For intracellular extraction, my suggestion is to lysis the cells to release the metabolites, and so, the extraction can be done with organic solvents.
